December newsletter

Hi friends and family

Greetings from a chilly Marseille - well for those of you in South Africa, it’s freezing! For those of you in colder parts of the world, I’m sorry -probably not as cold as you :)

Freezing Baptisms

A shout-out to these 3 amazing people who braved the cold and got baptised (in the sea!) last weekend - the coldest day of the year so far! As a church we love to celebrate baptisms!

Simplifying Things

In the last few months we have really tried to simplify things to focus on growing and developing our small group ministry and I’m pleased to say it has been going amazingly well.

Here is a photo of our group - celebrating our last gathering of the year in true French style with a Raclette (kind of like a fondu - with a LOT of cheese!)

Two weeks ago we had a great Thanksgiving celebration service where we heard testimonies from various people in the church of what God has done this year - so many wonderful things to celebrate - salvations, healings, relationships being restored, God providing new jobs. It was fun to see some of the kids join in the celebration as you can see here.

As things are slowing down for Christmas, I thought I would take the opportunity to say a huge thank you for all your support - whether that is financial, prayer support, or just being supportive of what I am doing and believing in me and what God has called me to do here in Marseille! Thank you!

Please join me in praying for the city of Marseille, especially over this Christmas season. In my next newsletter I will share a few things about Marseille for those of you who aren’t familiar with this city.

But for now, please pray for: PEACE over a spirit of confusion, for open hearts to the gift of JESUS and His great love, for families and relationships to be restored over this holiday period, and as my favourite Christmas carol says: A thrill of hope, a weary world rejoices; for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!”

May that be true in this city, and for all of you this Christmas.

Sending love and Christmas blessings,

Fiona
